Memories of Joe Chandler:
Joe was a really great guy! When I first saw him I kinda thought he was kinda weird but once
I got to know him, I really liked him. He was just a very nice and easy going guy. He was so
layed back and very friendly to everyone.. I don't have any unique memories of him or funny
stories but the last time I saw him was at "the big house", Kern's place. I'm sure some of you
remember parties there.. He and Darby were really close and I saw both of them at a bonfire
party there the weekend before he passed. I remember hanging out with them and drinking a
few beers. I don't recall the nature of the conversation but I can bet it was either girls or Metal.
It stands out to me because it was the last time I saw Joe alive. Cheers Joe... [ John Delk ]
The last time I saw Chandler was at a big party at the Kearns' the weekend before he died,
although I don't remember much as we were both in altered states. My best memory of Joe
was going to the Metallica/Ozzy concert in Fort Worth. We had a vanload of friends and were
tailgating in the parking lot and had very interesting exchanges with people in tuxes and
evening gowns who were going to a symphony. As Joe would say, Metal up your ass!
